Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Cheltenham is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join a busy dealership workshop. You will perform servicing, diagnostics and repairs to manufacturer standards, working efficiently and right first time.

You'll need NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and at least 3 years' experience, own tools, and a full UK driving licence. The role offers a rotating Saturday pattern and great earning potential through base salary and bonuses.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• At least 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
• Own tools and toolbox.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Complete repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Perform vehicle health checks and report additional work.
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
• Road test vehicles when required.
• Work with the workshop team to maintain productivity and safety.

Salary: £35,000 Basic Depending on Experience | OTE £46,000+

Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 5:00pm | 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:30am - 12:30pm)

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards, ensuring every vehicle is completed efficiently and right first time.

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
• Completing repairs in line with manufacturer standards
• Performing vehicle health checks and reporting additional work
• Accurately completing job cards and workshop documentation
• Road testing vehicles where required
• Working closely with the workshop team to maintain productivity and efficiency
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and workmanship at all times

About You

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• At least 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician or Car Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working to manufacturer standards
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Your own tools and toolbox
• A Full UK Manual Driving Licence
