Job Description

MAJOR DUTIES:

Plan organize and control process related projects concerning the assembly and test of equipment production tooling process improvements efficiencies capacities. Lead process improvement groups/teams in implementing cost improvements. Lead Engineering Change Process to implement Customer and internally generated Engineering Changes. Act as Engineering liaison with Quality Assurance Manufacturing and the Customer and be actively involved in the resolution of Customer concerns. Attend and participate in Process or Customer multi-disciplinary team meetings.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to develop and control work instructions and procedures for the assembly and test of equipment.

Responsible to implement Customer and internally generated changes using the Engineering Change Process.

Responsible for setup and maintenance of bills of materials within ERP system

Responsible to plan and implement new production areas with emphasis on lean manufacturing practices.

Responsible to lead continuous improvement teams and/or Kaizen events

Responsible for the study of the efficiencies of production tooling and the implementation of tooling improvements including modifications to current tooling and the sourcing of new improved tooling.

Responsible to investigate assembly and manufacturing related problems and ensure the problem is resolved.

Coordination & implementation of new processes or equipment.

Issue and follow-up on work orders as required.

Responsible to co-ordinate any assistance in housekeeping related issues in the assigned area.

Review of documents relating to internal rejects customer concerns and attend corrective action meetings and assist in resolution of same.

Perform productivity studies and recommend/implement improvements.

Monitor scrap in the assigned area and co-ordinate projects to reduce scrap.

Develop and maintain Quality System documents in the assigned area.

Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

Adheres to all health and safety rules and procedures.

Ensure that all business activities are performed with highest ethical standards and in compliance with ATS code of business conduct.

Ensure that all business activities are performed in accordance to the ATS Confidentiality Policy

Qualifications

Education:

Post-secondary college diploma or equivalent specializing in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.


Experience:

Engineering experience in the manufacturing industry relating to equipment assembly high volume parts manufacturing and knowledge of ERP systems (JDE) is an asset. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with other departments according to deadlines and under pressure filled conditions is essential. Ability to use word processing create spreadsheets/timelines and use AutoCAD and SolidWorks is a necessity.
