Job Description

Working within the Global Marine and Navy business unit, you will provide technical writing support to JCI and our customers. The client portfolio includes UK and international navies, as well as commercial vessels such as cargo ships, tankers, ferries, and yachts. The role involves developing technical documentation across several contracts, tailored to the client’s specifications. Documents will cover a wide range of areas including mechanical, electrical, and environmental topics.

How you will do it
  • Understanding and interpreting client’s technical specifications
  • Developing technical documents according to client specifications
  • Participating in contract review meetings internally and with the client
  • Providing general contract support to the Project Manager
  • Preparing document transmittals and managing document control of the project
  • Understanding and interpreting technical drawings such as P&ID’s to create Operating and Maintenance Manuals
  • Interpreting Approval Authority rules and regulations
What we look for
  • Liaising directly with the client and approval authorities
  • Experience in interpreting client’s technical specifications
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft standard packages
Preferred qualifications and experience
  • HNC/HND in Engineering
  • Experience in Document Control
  • Experience in the Marine Industry
  • Experience with MoD contracts
  • Experience in the Fire Protection or Fire Detection industry
