As the demand for skilled workers rises and the landscape of power generation continues to evolve, we’re expanding our technical training team. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Technical Training Specialist with deep subject matter expertise in electrical power systems—particularly within the UK and EU context. In this flexible, contract/casual-based role, you’ll help create and deliver compelling, technically accurate training content for professionals working in power generation, transmission, and distribution.

Responsibilities

  1. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
    • Bring your technical expertise in UK/EU electrical power systems to guide course development
    • Ensure training materials reflect current practices, terminology, and regulations
    • Provide insight and feedback to instructional designers, content developers, and clients
  2. Support Content Development
    • Collaborate with designers, graphic artists, and clients to build eLearning modules and training guides
    • Review and update technical training materials to maintain accuracy and engagement
    • Use internal tools and Microsoft Office Suite to help deliver high-quality content on time
  3. Contribute to Training Solutions
    • Assist in developing comprehensive training plans tailored to client and learner needs
    • Participate in the delivery of classroom, hands-on, or virtual training sessions when needed
    • Support evaluation efforts to improve content, learning outcomes, and learner engagement
  4. Support Internal & External Collaboration
    • Provide expert input to internal teams such as sales and marketing
    • Help ensure product accuracy and alignment with customer expectations
    • Participate in occasional client consultations to assess technical training needs

Minimum Requirements

  1. 3+ years of hands-on experience in an industrial skills domain, preferably in power generation or distribution
  2. 2+ years in training, instructional design, or learning & development, focused on adult learners
  3. U.S. military experience (e.g., Master Training Specialist – US Navy) may count toward experience
  4. Expertise in UK and/or EU standards and systems in electrical power is essential
  5. Strong communication skills—you can simplify technical ideas for diverse audiences
  6. Excellent organizational skills and comfort working independently in a remote environment
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  8. Strong technical writing ability

Preferred

  1. Experience developing content for online and in-person delivery
  2. Comfortable working with asynchronous teams and managing competing deadlines
