The Technical Training Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs, catering to both internal teams and external clients. Your role will involve equipping our employees with the skills needed to excel in their roles and ensuring our clients maximize the value of our cutting-edge products. Additionally, you will lead the creation of offers and oversee order handling, managing the financial aspects of our training services.

What will you do...

Accountabilities:

  • Create customized training modules for external clients, ensuring they understand our products and how to leverage them effectively.
  • Conduct in-house, on-site, and virtual training sessions for internal and external audiences.
  • Manage financial aspects related to training, including budgeting, pricing, and expenses.
  • Engage with third parties to enhance our training solutions.
  • Provide ongoing product training for colleagues, including regional staff, to support internal development.
  • Transfer knowledge and skills to enable regional colleagues to perform activities to our standards.
  • Manage training for our apprentices on products and services.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify training needs and develop appropriate internal training plans.
  • Work with the AFM Academy team on delivering training solutions.
  • Oversee an in-house training center.

An ideal candidate would likely have the following experience…

  • A customer-focused attitude, responsiveness, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in presenting technical topics and sharing knowledge.
  • Passion for learning and developing people.
  • An engineering degree or equivalent; experience with rotating equipment training is preferred but not essential.
  • Good technical knowledge of steam turbines, gearboxes, or similar products.
  • Knowledge of reciprocating compressors.
  • An aptitude for sales and business development.

This hybrid role requires about 10-20% travel within the UK and overseas for training purposes.
