As part of your role, you will undertake Fleet Certified Instructor (FCI) training within two years, ensuring you meet the standards required to deliver high-quality instruction across the fleet.

You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering Technical & Safety training, with an initial focus on the Chemistry Programme. Over time, your scope will expand to include Nuclear Safety, Environmental topics, Radiological Protection, and Engineering.

Training will be delivered in a range of settings, including classroom and plant simulator environments. You’ll also provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to support the learning and development of trainees.

As a course coordinator, you’ll manage assigned training areas and lead group sessions ranging from 1 to 20 participants, depending on the subject matter and setting.

You’ll act as a subject matter expert in your field, with a deep understanding of relevant company standards. Your expertise will position you as a key representative for your training area across the organisation.

You will embed company values, safety principles, and operational excellence (OpEx) into all training content, lesson plans, and delivery, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives.

You’ll work closely with line managers to support the development of staff competence and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across Nuclear New Build (NNB), Nuclear Operations, and subject matter experts.

In addition, you may liaise with external contractors to coordinate and support training services when required.

Finally, you’ll actively contribute to the business plans of the Nuclear Skills Alliance and NNB, playing a key role in achieving broader organisational goals.

You're a technically skilled professional with a relevant qualification (HNC or higher) and experience in chemistry, technical safety, or a related discipline—ideally within power generation, though similar industries are also welcome.

You’re a confident communicator, a team player, and a natural mentor, with a talent for making complex topics clear. You bring a practical approach to problem-solving, a solid understanding of training methods, and the flexibility to deliver sessions at different locations when needed.

A teaching or training qualification and knowledge of nuclear systems are a bonus.
