Technical Trainer – Retail and Hospitality Skills

Location: West London Retail Skills Hub, Westfield London

Hours: Full-time (36 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

Bring your industry experience to life and shape the future of retail and hospitality talent in London.

At West London College, we’re proud to be innovators in adult education and skills development. We're now looking for a Retail and Hospitality Technical Trainer to join our brand-new Retail Skills Hub at Westfield London — a state-of-the-art training centre where education meets real-world industry.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service management who wants to inspire and empower the next generation of professionals. Whether you’re an experienced trainer or stepping into education for the first time, if you have a passion for developing people and excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you.

• You’ll work in a vibrant, modern hub in the heart of Westfield London, engaging directly with learners and employers.

• You'll design and deliver practical, employer-led programmes that reflect real industry needs — from entry-level to Level 5, including apprenticeships and commercial courses.

• You'll have the chance to shape partnerships with local businesses and play a visible role in transforming skills delivery across the region.

What you'll be doing:
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across retail, hospitality, and employability programmes
  • Design training that reflects real-world challenges and industry standards
  • Support learners from a range of backgrounds and experience levels, tracking their progress, engagement, and success
  • Work closely with employers to build and tailor training packages that fill current skills gaps
  • Represent the Hub in the community and support its growth by promoting services and opportunities
Who we’re looking for:
  • An experienced retail or hospitality manager looking for a fresh, rewarding challenge
  • A trainer, assessor, or coach ready to take your career further
  • Someone who thrives on working with people, problem-solving, and building up others’ confidence and skills

If you’re passionate about people, progression, and positive change, this is the role for you.

Why West London College?

At West London College, you’ll be part of a community that values innovation, inclusion, and ambition. In return for your work, we offer:

  • 40 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and 3 additional closure days
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Cycle to Work and season ticket loan schemes
  • Access to Perkbox (discounts and wellbeing platform) and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Continuous CPD and career development opportunities
  • Discounts at our on-site hair and beauty salon
