Job summary

Terberg DTS in Elland is seeking a Technical Trainer to design and deliver high-quality training programmes for engineers, supporting their learning journeys and qualifications, including IRTEC certifications.

You will develop training materials, manage accreditation processes, and create structured pathways for new starters, while collaborating with SMEs to continually improve content and programmes.

Qualifications

• Recognised training qualification (e.g., Level 3 AET/PTLLS).
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Experience creating training content and materials.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong organisational and multi-project management skills.
• Proactive learning and continuous improvement mindset.
• Confident with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging technical training to engineers at all career stages.
• Support onboarding, refresher training, and development programmes.
• Develop and maintain accurate, practical training materials.
• Manage engineer accreditation and assessment processes, incl. IRTEC qualifications.
• Create structured learning pathways for new starters within first year.
• Work with SMEs to improve training content and programmes.
• Deliver training to non-technical employees to improve cross-functional understanding.
• Provide training for customers at Elland site and customer locations when required.
• Maintain training records, registers and administration.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

At Terberg DTS, we're looking for a Technical Trainer to play a key role in developing our engineering workforce. You'll design and deliver high-quality training programmes, support engineers through their learning journeys, and help ensure they achieve both internal and external qualifications, including IRTEC certifications.

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering engaging technical training to engineers at every stage of their career journey.
• Supporting engineer onboarding, refresher training, and ongoing development programmes.
• Developing and maintaining training materials that are accurate, practical, and up to date.
• Managing and supporting engineer accreditation and assessment processes, including IRTEC qualifications.
• Creating structured learning pathways and training schedules for new starters during their first 12 months.
• Working with subject matter experts to continuously improve training content and learning programmes.
• Delivering technical training to non-technical employees to improve cross‑functional understanding.
• Providing training for customers at our Elland site and customer locations when required.
• Maintaining training records, registers, and associated administration.
• Promoting a culture of continuous learning, development, and technical excellence.

What You'll Bring

• A recognised training qualification, such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET/PTLLS).

Desirable Experience

• Experience delivering technical training within the automotive, engineering, or heavy vehicle sector.
• Knowledge of engineering learning pathways and competency frameworks.
• Experience supporting professional accreditations, including IRTEC qualifications.
• Understanding of instructional design, process mapping, and adult learning principles.
