Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior Lead Instructor to spearhead our Microsoft Azure and Power Platform Centre of Excellence. This pivotal role will be responsible for delivering expert-level instruction, designing cutting-edge training materials, and leading client projects focused on upskilling their employees in key Microsoft technologies. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Microsoft Azure, with a strong emphasis on the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages), Microsoft Co-pilot, and Power Automate.

As a Lead Instructor and a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of digital workforce, empowering individuals with the skills needed to achieve higher productivity with Microsoft technologies. You will also contribute to mission of ensuring fair access to technology futures for all by creating inclusive and impactful learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Instruction and Delivery: Deliver engaging and effective training sessions on a range of Microsoft Azure technologies, with a strong focus on the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages), Microsoft Co-pilot, and Power Automate, to diverse audiences.
  • Curriculum and Content Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, up-to-date training materials, including presentations, hands-on labs, exercises, and assessments, ensuring alignment with Microsoft's official curriculum and industry best practices.
  • Client Project Leadership: Lead and contribute to the creation and delivery of bespoke Microsoft-based projects for clients, aimed at upskilling their employees and driving digital transformation within their organisations. This includes needs analysis, solution design, and project management.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain a deep and current understanding of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, with a particular focus on the Power Platform, Microsoft Co-pilot, and Power Automate, staying abreast of the latest features, updates, and best practices.
  • Microsoft Certification Advocacy: Promote and support learners in achieving relevant Microsoft certifications, leveraging your own MCT status and knowledge of the certification pathways.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and consistency of training delivery and materials across all Microsoft Azure and Power Platform programmes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Skills City leadership team, other instructors, and client stakeholders to ensure training programmes meet the needs of learners and clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and materials, incorporating feedback and new methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Mentor and provide guidance to junior instructors or learning facilitators within the Microsoft Azure and Power Platform domain.
  • Community Engagement: Represent them at industry events and within the Microsoft community, promoting our expertise in Microsoft technologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in delivering technical training on Microsoft Azure technologies, with a significant focus on the Power Platform, Microsoft Co-pilot, and Power Automate.
  • Must hold some of the relevant Microsoft certifications, particularly in Azure and the Power Platform. Examples include:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
  • Must be a current Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT). This demonstrates instructional skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality Microsoft training. To become an MCT, candidates typically need to hold a qualifying Microsoft certification (Associate or Expert level) and demonstrate instructional skills through an approved program.
  • Experience in designing and developing technical training materials and curricula.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to client-facing projects, particularly those involving technology upskilling.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Experience with other Microsoft technologies (e.g., Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365).
  • Experience with virtual training delivery platforms and methodologies.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Experience in a similar role within a training or education organisation.
