Job summary

Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Fareham is seeking a Technical Trainer to design, deliver and evaluate budgeted training solutions for Coastguard technical training across the UK. You will work under the Technical Training and Development Manager to implement quality training aligned with HMCG strategies.

The role requires experience in creating training materials for both in-person and e-learning formats, plus strong stakeholder liaison skills and a background in Search/Technical Rescue.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of establishing professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrable experience in designing and delivering training material for face-to-face or e-learning interventions.
• Relevant experience and qualifications in Search and Rescue or Technical Rescue.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, evaluate and update budgeted Coastguard technical training solutions across the UK.
• Assess learning and technical competence through in-programme evaluation and assessments.
• Provide Maritime and Aviation Coastguard Technical Training as required.
• Act as SME to HMCG Operations and other interested parties.

Job description

Location: Fareham (Hybrid)

Salary: £38,663. The salary of £38,663 includes a basic salary of £35,663 and a non-pensionable Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £3,000.

Contract Type: Permanent – Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time

About the role

As a Technical Trainer you will be responsible for the design, delivery, and evaluation of effective and budgeted training solutions to meet the needs set by Coastguard Operations or outlined in the MCA or HMCG Business Plans. Accountable to the Technical Training and Development Manager for the implementation of quality appropriate training and development solutions to meet the tactical direction of HMCG Maritime Technical Training.

Key Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to:

• The design, delivery, evaluation, review and updating of budgeted Coastguard technical training solutions at appropriate venues across the UK, working with colleagues and/or external providers, as necessary.
• Assessment of learning and technical competence through both in-programme evaluation and, by the setting, invigilation and marking of formative and summative assessments.
• The provision of all areas of Maritime and Aviation Coastguard Technical Training.
• Act on behalf of Technical Training & Development as a Subject Matter Expert to HMCG Operations and other interested parties as required.
