Job description

We are seeking a versatile and motivated Technical Technician. This is a varied role combining IT support, physics technical assistance and general maintenance duties. The successful candidate will ensure that equipment, learning spaces and resources are safe, functional and well‑maintained to support effective teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
IT Support
  • Provide first‑line technical support to staff and students.
  • Assist with the maintenance of hardware, software, printers and networked devices.
  • Assist with setting up equipment for assemblies, lessons and events.
  • Support the management of user accounts and passwords.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies across the school.
  • Conduct routine checks.
Physics/Science Technician Support
  • Prepare materials, equipment and resources.
  • Ensure laboratories are safe, organised and fully stocked.
  • Carry out regular checks of equipment.
  • Safely store, label and dispose of materials following safety regulations and departmental policies.

We are looking for an individual who is practical, hands‑on and able to problem‑solve independently. A person who is organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload and who is positive and has a flexible attitude. Experience of working within a school environment is desirable.

35 hours per week Term‑time only
Hours: 8.00am - 4.00pm
Actual Salary Range £23,547 - £26,802 (Grade 4)
