Technical Service Supervisor

As an experienced Engineer, this is a unique opportunity to take the first step into a management role. Our client is offering this opportunity. The role will include:

Purpose of the Role

The Smoke Control Department plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the Fire division. Responsibilities include providing technical expertise, supporting new enquiries and customers, and identifying opportunities to expand the business through cross-selling and strategic engagement with clients. The role also involves delivering high-quality service through project management, quoting, and ensuring safety standards compliance. An understanding of AOV is essential.

Key areas:

1. Business Development

• Act as the primary technical support for new enquiries and potential customers.
• Identify and engage with clients not currently using smoke control services, presenting tailored solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage cross-selling.
• Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities within the sector.

2. Enquiry Handling and Quoting

• Manage incoming enquiries related to smoke control systems.
• Conduct site surveys and develop accurate, competitive quotations.
• Prepare detailed proposals for remedial works during maintenance activities.

3. Project Management and Delivery

• Ensure projects meet high standards and client expectations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors for timely execution.
• Monitor progress and address issues promptly.

4. Compliance and Documentation

• Ensure RAMS are uploaded and assigned correctly.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Oversee quality assurance processes.

5. Client and Stakeholder Communication

• Serve as the main contact for enquiries and projects.
• Provide technical advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders.

6. Reporting and Analysis

• Track performance metrics like revenue and customer satisfaction.
• Provide insights and recommendations to management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Working Conditions

• Initial onboarding and training in the office, followed by onsite meetings and shadowing.
• Hybrid work arrangement, primarily home-based, with site visits and occasional office visits 2-3 times a month. Subject to review during probation.
