We’re currently recruiting for a Technical Support Officer to join a local authority’s Responsive Maintenance team, delivering essential business support functions across the service. This is a varied, fast-paced role ideal for someone with strong administrative experience and the ability to manage day-to-day operational workflows.
Working alongside Surveyors, Repairs Managers, and frontline staff, you'll help keep services running smoothly by owning processes, resolving issues, and ensuring accurate documentation, scheduling, and reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily administrative and business support across responsive repairs and maintenance teams.
  • Manage office tasks such as handling post, scanning, photocopying, and diary/resource scheduling.
  • Handle confidential data in accordance with data protection and council policy.
  • Support operational delivery of projects and services, including small-scale project participation.
  • Resolve internal and external enquiries and escalate when necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining work schedules, contractor coordination, and service planning.
  • Provide specialist admin support for key operational areas or systems.
  • Promote service improvements and support team development.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in administration or business support, ideally within a housing or repairs setting.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and internal scheduling or repairs systems.
  • Ability to interpret policies, follow guidelines, and take initiative on day-to-day tasks.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with internal staff, external contractors, and members of the public.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data appropriately.
