My client is a well-established IFA practice with offices in Norfolk and Suffolk, offering bespoke advice to both corporate and private clients. This role will be based in their attractive office in central Ipswich.
The purpose of this role is to build excellent working relationships with Wealth Managers, Paraplanning, and Client Services, whilst ensuring the service our clients and colleagues receive is exemplary. It also offers opportunities for personal development and knowledge growth.
The initial phase involves participating in a project to onboard new clients over 12 to 18 months, meeting business and compliance needs. The Trainee role is a structured development pathway towards a Technical Support position, supporting Client Services and Paraplanning with technical assistance within a central team. This role offers development pathways, with support provided, to progress into Paraplanning and advisory roles in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with fund research and analysis at both client and company levels, ensuring accurate recording and follow-up.
- Gather technical product research and develop solutions.
- Carry out financial planning and tax calculations.
- Develop proficiency in cashflow modelling systems and techniques.
- Assist in preparing initial financial plans and solutions to meet client goals.
- Support the maintenance and development of compliant client recommendation reports and letters.
- Consult with Wealth Managers on investment, pension, and tax planning, providing suggestions and confirming proposed actions to clients.
- Manage time effectively and handle caseload efficiently.
- Support the preparation of compliant suitability reports.
- Observe meetings and document notes accurately.
- Provide technical administrative support, including setting up policies and trusts, preparing documentation for income/withdrawals, premiums, and funds, and processing client changes.
- Update client information accurately and ensure administrative tasks are diarised and actioned in Intelliflo Office (iO).
- Maintain strong relationships with providers and escalate issues when necessary.
- Assist Wealth Managers with the annual review process.

- Previous experience in Financial Services providing administrative and technical support.
Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 1 R0 unit towards the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, preferably 2, and willingness to work towards full qualification.
