Job description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our client at their prestigious manufacturing facility based in Telford, Shropshire. For this role we are seeking someone who has previous experience in a similar technical role. This role is offered on a full-time, permanent role + benefits and will include some travel within EMEA as necessary.

Responsible for growing this global company’s Industrial Inkjet business with EMEA including industrial inkjet components and print engines to full scale high speed commercial printing systems and textile solutions. The role

This is an exciting, multi-disciplinary opportunity taking responsibility for providing the technical support of industrial inkjet printhead products to EMEA customers in person and remotely. You will take ownership of customer issues and see through problems to resolution, researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve system issues. Following standard procedures for the correct escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal/external teams.

Other duties and responsibilities will include:

• Engage and build positive, effective and collaborative relationships with customers and internal colleagues learning an understanding of priorities and specific needs
• Analyse and solve issues that customers may face during the design, commissioning and operation at their facilities of all company printhead technology
• Proactively work with customers to quickly understand the root cause of any problems or issues they encounter
• Act as first line of contact for customers, working effectively to solve technical issues. This could either be via phone, email or chat. Managing issues trough to resolution or escalate matters as appropriate to second line support teams
• Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
• Prepare accurate and timely professional technical reports
• Manager several different projects/ tasks/ activities simultaneously
• As required conduct on-site investigations to determine possible reasons for the customer issue and provide technical site visit reports
• Some travel will be required to customer sites and also to trade shows


The person

Innovative and self-motivated, you will be pro-active in your approach. With a strong engineering background and a good understanding if industrial/ scientific systems and ideally some knowledge of industrial inkjet printing systems.

An electrical/ electronic bias would be preferable but not compulsory. However, a degree in an engineering discipline and demonstrable experience within a similar role are required. Experience of managing projects is also required.


The role offers a salary between £48,500 and £55,5000 and includes generous benefits which include profit related bonus, executive medical and private health cover.
