Technical Support Engineer – EV Charging – Coventry (Hybrid) – £36.5k–£40k

Role – Technical Support Engineer (EV Charging)

Salary – £36.5k–£40k + Benefits + Career Growth

Location – Coventry HQ (Hybrid – mix of onsite, remote & travel)

Working Hours – Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm (flexible hybrid working)

Travel – Occasional trips across the UK & Europe

One of our key clients, a global leader in EV charging technology, is looking to add a Technical Support Engineer to their UK team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the forefront of the clean mobility revolution, helping customers keep charging infrastructure reliable, efficient, and ready for the Net Zero transition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot issues across EV chargers – hardware, software, comms, and power electronics
  • Use Linux-based tools and diagnostics to identify root causes
  • Analyse power flow, converters, and electrical systems to resolve faults
  • Support client integration and provide clear technical guidance
  • Work closely with R&D teams on bug fixes, testing, and product improvements
  • Create technical documentation and improve support processes
  • Hands-on work in the Coventry lab, plus occasional travel across the UK & EU
Qualifications
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Valid UK driving licence
Key Skills & Experience
  • 2–3 years in technical support, field engineering, or systems troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, networking, and debugging tools
  • Good understanding of power electronics, converters, and current flow
  • Familiarity (or willingness to learn) OCPP and communication protocols
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills – able to explain technical issues clearly
  • Experience in B2B support or customer-facing engineering (advantage)
