Job description

The Harry James Group is working in partnership with a sustainable energy company, looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join their Energy Storage and Optimization Lifecycle Management team. Seeking an individual that is passionate about energy storage and clean energy solutions to be part of this global customer-driven organization, working with high level technologies.

The Technical Support Engineer will support customers by improving the technical and operational performance of company products. The successful candidate will be familiar with energy storage systems or have experience in a related electrical field. A deep understanding of electrical hardware and electronics is required for this role. Training in battery energy storage will be provided in order to support customers and internal expertise centers remotely.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for monitoring all battery sites across the globe
  2. Provide remote level-2 support to customers and expertise centers
  3. Use proprietary software to remotely evaluate and troubleshoot systems
  4. Record and compile data for analysis and assist in related assessment and preparation of reports
  5. Coordinate system updates with software teams and customers
  6. Respond to support requests when issues are reported to helpdesk
  7. Document all customer requests and repairs performed
  8. Notify customers on status of repairs, warranty claims, software updates, etc.
  9. Provide energy storage training to customers and internal colleagues
  10. Coordinate with Field Service Engineers on warranty claims and notify warranty claims division of company
Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related fields
  2. 5 years of experience with electrical hardware or electronics
  3. Excellent communication and documentation skills
  4. Some international travel required (approx. 5-15%)
  5. Experience maintaining customer relationships on multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience with: Solar or Energy storage systems, Lithium-ion Battery chemistries, Grid-scale renewable energy systems
  2. Familiarity with Programmable Logic Control (PLC programming)
  3. Familiarity with microgrid controls
  4. Familiarity with industrial cooling systems
  5. Familiarity with Linux operating system
