Job summary

Wynne Consulting is seeking a Technical Support Engineer – Steam & Turbine/Gas Turbines to strengthen its turbomachinery team across EMEA. You’ll diagnose performance issues on steam turbines, gas turbines, and large generators, lead technical investigations, and support outages with OEM-level rigor.

Qualifications

  • Experience with steam turbines, gas turbines, or large rotating machinery.
  • Strong understanding of turbine/generator operation, vibration, alignment, controls, or excitation systems.
  • Field service or outage experience (OEM or utility preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues on steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, excitation and control systems.
  • Lead technical investigations, root cause analysis, and preparing OEM-level engineering reports.
  • Support major outages (typically 2–3 per year) including inspections, repairs, commissioning and performance testing.
  • Prepare outage documentation, technical instructions, and manufacturing packages.
  • Work with global engineering teams to solve complex technical problems.
  • Interpret customer specifications and support tenders, upgrades, and LTSA opportunities.
  • Acting as technical focal point for key EMEA customers, identifying service needs and future opportunities.
  • Managing site activities, subcontractors, safety plans, daily logs and project delivery.

Technical Support Engineer – Steam & Gas Turbines

Our Client is expanding its engineering capability across EMEA and is seeking a turbomachinery specialist to support customers operating steam turbines, gas turbines, and large generators.

This role combines deep technical engineering with hands-on outage support and long-term client relationship management.

You’ll work on complex rotating machinery, diagnose performance issues, lead technical investigations, and support major planned and unplanned outages. You’ll also act as a trusted technical partner for key customers, helping shape service strategies and future upgrade opportunities.

What you’ll work on

What we’re looking for
