Attractive salary | Monday Friday (no weekends) | Predominantly office based

This role will suit someone with sound mechanical knowledge that is looking to spend less time on-site, whilst still keen to use their expertise to help solve customers technical problems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve technical/mechanical faults
  • Provide effective technical telephone support to distributors and end users, investigating issues and following up with all user queries
  • Offer technical support to all internal staff
  • Take ownership of customer complaints and bring to satisfactory resolution
  • Occasionally carry out external repairs and servicing when required
  • Process warranty returns to agreed procedures
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned by the Customer Service Manager
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required

Skills and Experience

  • Hands on Mechanical / Engineering experience is essential
  • Mechanically & electrically proficient
  • Excellent telephone manner with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be self-motivating.
  • Good IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Windows
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in technical support, ideally in the engineering sector
  • Compressor, Welding, Metal Cutting knowledge would be a huge advantage but not essential
  • Customer Services experience is advantageous, if dealing directly with customers by phone or face to face
