Job summary

A public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Technical Support Analyst in Norwich. This 3-month contract role involves providing second-line technical support and managing IT hardware assets. Candidates should have at least 2 years of IT experience and a valid UK driving license. The role requires expertise in MS Windows, Windows Servers, and Active Directory, along with networking management skills. Work is Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide second-line technical support to IT users across all sites.
  • Support efficient and effective hardware asset management processes.
  • Carry out asset management tasks across the IT hardware lifecycle.
  • Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Oversee the repair process for devices and manage hardware for leavers.

Skills

2 years of experience in IT
Proficient in operations systems such as MS Windows
Strong understanding of Windows Servers
Extensive experience with Active Directory
Networking Management including LAN and WAN
Good understanding of PC architecture
Experience with backup and remote access software

Technical Support Analyst

£15.88 per hour (umbrella)

Location - Norwich with travel to other sites

A well established public sector organisation is looking for an experienced Technical Analyst with a background in asset management to support IT users across multiple sites ensuring there is smooth operational delivery across all IT infrastructure. The primary purpose of this role is to provide second-line technical support to IT users and assist in the management of the organisation hardware assets

Reporting to the Second Line Team Manager, you will provide 'second line' technical support to the organisation IT users across all sites. A key part of your role will be supporting efficient and effective hardware asset management processes and systems. This includes:

  • carrying out asset management tasks across the entire life cycle of Organisation IT hardware,
  • setting up and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • booking new equipment into the asset register, arranging disposals, and coordinating hardware audits
  • You will also oversee the repair process for devices, including diagnosing and replacing parts, and create processes for managing hardware for leavers

The successful candidate should have the following core skills
  • 2 years of experience in IT
  • Proficient experience in operations systems such MS Windows
  • Strong understanding of Windows Servers
  • extensive experience with Active Directory
  • Networking Management including LAN and WAN
  • Good understanding/hands on experience with PC architecture
  • Experience with backup and remote access software
