Job Description:

Main Responsibilities/Overall Purpose

Saica Group provides sustainable recycled paper, corrugated cardboard, and flexible packaging manufacturing solutions, as well as solutions for waste management and waste recovery. Sustainability at Saica begins with our values – we care, we value, and we challenge.

To lead the way towards technical excellence, working with all SAICA FLEX local technical teams to be perceived by our customers as a supplier that adds value through a proactive technical and innovation approach.

Specific Tasks/Accountabilities

  • Apply Group Policies: Equal Opportunities, Environment, Quality, and Health & Safety.
  • Understand customer expectations on Sustainability, Product Development, and Value Engineering; collect and transmit explicit and implicit customer needs to KAM and RDI teams to build appropriate technical solutions.
  • Define, execute, and track projects within the Operational Master Plan (OMP) for customers, aligned with priorities with KAM and RSD.
  • Drive Sustainability and Total Cost of Ownership projects (Recyclability, LCA, End-to-End analysis, etc.) in assigned customers, in coordination with the Sustainability Manager and MIM team.
  • Coordinate with KAM, RDI, and site technical teams to define and execute Value Engineering projects and improve margins of new technical solutions.
  • Coordinate trial schedules with site PDEs for new business onboarding and support trials at customer sites when needed.
  • Lead responses to innovation contests invited by customers.
  • Respond promptly to major technical issues that could impact SFX branding, coordinating with Quality and PDE teams.
  • Actively work to improve performance targets, especially through co-innovation with customers.
  • Establish relationships with customer R&D and technical communities to position SFX as a preferred partner.
  • Familiarize with customer factories and main FFS lines supplied by SFX.
  • Participate as an executive member in Account Team meetings and support KAM in meeting preparations and presentations.
  • Follow procedures in the SFSS manual related to TS role and responsibilities.
  • Ensure effective communication and reporting within Sales & Marketing.
  • Support induction and ongoing training for new team members and participate in personal training initiatives.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

Skills, Qualifications & Attributes

  • University degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of Polymers and Plastic Science.
  • Experience in flexible packaging sector.
  • Project management skills.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales, product development, or production management within industrial settings, preferably sector-specific.
  • At least 1 year of experience related to flexible processes.
  • Basic training in Q.S.E.
