Job Description:

We are delighted to be recruiting a Technical Supervisor within Damp & Mould. You will supervise an experienced and driven team and be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the performance of trades operatives and where applicable any specialist sub-contractors, monitoring closely compliance, performance and client satisfaction.

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will work collaboratively with other colleagues across the business, supervising and coordinating damp and mould inspections, treatments and remedial works to ensure smooth service delivery. You'll be responsible for people management of a team, so people management experience is a must – ideally within damp & mould.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with the works scheduling team and sub-contractors to ensure accuracy of job information, timely report submissions, suitable allocation of work, and invoicing.
  • Carrying out pre and post inspections to ensure a good standard to work.
  • Assisting the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) in managing the contractors to ensure excellent service delivery, continually looking for process improvements to improve efficiency, costs, and meet agreed targets.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including HHSRS and housing standards.
  • Supporting the SDM by providing data, reports and MI (e.g. for quality control and budgetary data).
  • Managing the day-to-day administration of the team.
  • Pro-actively engaging with and acting a point of contact for customers, ensuring all queries and complaints are resolved swiftly.
  • Support training and development of team members in damp and mould awareness,

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Trade specific qualification(s) e.g. in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or a repairs sector common trade.
  • Good IT literacy (including MS Office programmes (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and ability to use relevant job management systems (knowledge of accuserv system would be advantageous)
  • Specialist knowledge/qualifications/qualifying experience of Damp & Mould is essential.
  • Prior experience in a Supervisory role (ideally within a responsive repairs/minor works environment).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholder (written and verbal).
  • Numeracy and analytical skills - an ability to understand data.
  • Personal resilience: ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Commercial acumen and an appreciation for business cost efficiency.
  • A solutions-based approach, positive ‘can do’ attitude, and the ability to motivate others.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Prior management of specialist sub-contractors would be preferred.
  • Full clean UK driving licence

Starting from £45,(DOE) + benefits

Working arrangement

  • Full Time – 36 hours per week
  • Travel - The role will involve travel to sites within and around the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, as such a full clean UK driving licence is required.
