We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Technical Supervisors to oversee operations within a Critical Environment.
This role provides technical leadership and day-to-day management to the Day and Shift engineering teams, ensuring seamless service delivery while maintaining total compliance with all regulatory, health and safety, and Client-specific requirements.
As a Technical Supervisor working for the Data Centre Solutions team, your duties will include:
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management
- Provide direct line management to the Day and Shift engineering teams.
- Mentor, motivate, and direct staff and subcontractors.
- Manage duty of care, including holiday and sickness scheduling, performance appraisals, and training plan implementation to ensure best-in-class, customer-focused service delivery.
Operational Oversight
- Responsible for the execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and reactive work orders within defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets.
- Assist the management team in delivering operational commitments across all areas of the contract.
Technical Compliance & Administration
- Act as an Authorised Person (AP) for High Voltage (HVAP) and Pressure Systems AP (PSSR) and maintain compliance with all CBRE and Client policies.
- Manage technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), Method of Procedures (MOPs), and switching schedules (CWP).
- Create an audit-ready environment at all times and front internal and external audits where required.
Critical Environment Expertise
- Ensure maximum availability of critical plant.
- Lead troubleshooting, fault identification, and rectification, escalating urgent issues effectively.
- Respond to work interruptions, outages, or emergencies in accordance with SLAs.
Communication & Reporting
- Report to the Technical Contract Manager.
- Communicate high-priority tasks and issues effectively within the CBRE management team.
- Provide regular feedback to the Technical Contract Manager and internal stakeholders.
Health & Safety
- Ensure total compliance with company and Client health and safety policies.
- Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping.
- Ensure all maintenance is carried out in line with CBRE H&S procedures, utilising Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and permit-to-work systems.
Financial & Resource Control
- Maintain financial awareness, including the ability to produce basic quotations for works.
- Exercise appropriate control over critical and consumable parts and tools.
- Raise recommendations for service improvements through the Contract Manager.
Experience & Skills Required:
Essential
- Demonstrable experience working within Critical Environments.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team management role.
- City & Guilds Electrical Competency (Parts 1, 2, & 3) or equivalent.
- Mechanical qualifications or demonstrated mechanical knowledge.
- Comprehensive building services knowledge in both Mechanical & Electrical disciplines.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) and BMS (Building Management Systems).
- Expertise in "Safe Systems of Work," including permit-to-work systems and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH, Health & Safety at Work Act).
- Excellent customer relationship skills, professional demeanour, and strong commercial awareness.
- Strong computer literacy and communication skills.
Desirable
- High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP) status.
- 18th Edition IEE: Wiring & Installation competent.
- Pressure Systems AP (PSSR)
- Health and Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH).
- First Aid trained.
- Comprehensive building services knowledge (F-Gas & Water Management).
- Working knowledge of liquid cooling systems (e.g., CDUs, direct-to-chip cooling), chillers, and F-Gas regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
