Job Title
Engineering Supervisor
Job Purpose:
To effectively supervise the day-to-day operation of the site maintenance team and ensure compliance with standards (mandatory and statutory), ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the contract’s Mechanical, Electrical, and Fabric services.
Key Tasks:
- Ensure efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of the site’s M&E Plant and Equipment and Fabric Services.
- Manage the CAFM System to monitor staff performance and service delivery.
- Maintain compliance and records for the client system, managing Quality, Health, Safety + Environment responsibilities on site.
- Organize and carry out reactive repairs to M&E systems.
- Prioritize and complete reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks, reporting to the site lead.
- Ensure PPM is carried out per schedules and industry best practices.
- Supervise Specialist Service Contractors, including inductions and minor works.
- Formulate, assess, and validate Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Work Package Plans.
- Organize own tasks, materials, and quotations to complete tasks.
- Attend company meetings or training courses as required.
- Handle day-to-day operational requirements from the client or supervisor/manager.
- Be available for out-of-hours call outs as scheduled.
- Conduct contractor monitoring audits.
- Raise and close out hazard observations.
- Follow operational processes for contract efficiency.
- Assist in creating innovative tools or ideas for maintenance.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
Decision Making/Budgetary Control:
- Report to and be accountable to the Contract Manager.
- Financial authority limit of £1,000.00.
- Make decisions aligned with key tasks and objectives set by the Contract Manager.
Success Measures/Objectives:
- Meet contract KPIs and SLAs.
- Maintain high staff performance standards.
- Manage Quality, Health, Safety + Environment responsibilities.
- Ensure statutory compliance.
- Complete Planned and Reactive maintenance effectively.
- Manage sub-contracted services efficiently.
Person Specification
Skills:
- Operate CAFM system and compile reports.
- Organize workload and manage planned & reactive tasks.
- Compile quotations and manage risk assessments.
- Manage Log Book systems and respond to urgent site queries.
Desirable Skills:
- City & Guilds or equivalent in electrical discipline.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of CAFM systems and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of plant operation and technical standards.
Experience:
- Supervisory experience, motivating and managing teams.
- Client-facing experience in diverse environments.
- At least two years at a similar level or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems, Generators, Electrical Services, HV & AC, Water Systems, Lifts, and BMS.
