Job Overview

The Technical Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing site operations, addressing technical queries, managing small project works, supporting the Facility Manager with day-to-day operations, ensuring subcontractor site management is robust, performing subcontractor audits, and proactively monitoring and challenging contractor quotes to ensure best value. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure that all technical aspects of the site are running smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Main Duties

  • Oversee Site Operations: Ensure that all site operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Support Facility Manager: Assist the Facility Manager with day-to-day operations, including maintenance, scheduling, and coordination of site activities.
  • Contractor Quotes: Proactively monitor and challenge contractor quotes received to ensure they represent the best value for the company.
  • Project Management: Manage small project works from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Subcontractor Management: Ensure subcontractor site management is robust and subcontractor audits are performed regularly to maintain high standards of work and compliance.
  • Contractor Quotes: Proactively monitor and challenge contractor quotes received to ensure they represent the best value for the company.
  • Technical Queries: Address and resolve technical queries from site staff and other stakeholders promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure Best Value: Ensure that all quotes received from contractors and subcontractors provide the best value for the company.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and provide guidance to site staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality of work performed on-site, ensuring that all technical standards are met.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on site operations, project progress, and technical issues to senior management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including engineering, procurement, and safety, to ensure seamless site operations and project execution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance site efficiency and productivity.

What we are looking for

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field or specific trade
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a technical or construction environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in project management or technical fields are a plus.
