Job summary

World Wide Technology (WWT) seeks a Core Networking Technical Solutions Architect II to lead pre-sales design and delivery of multi-vendor core networking solutions. You will architect Underlay, Carrier Services, and Traffic Engineering for large customers, build Bills of Materials, and present designs to customers.

You will run lab builds and support POCs, and publish content that positions WWT as a technical market leader.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and delivering complex networking solutions.
• Deep expertise in SR-MPLS/SRv6, BGP/EVPN carrier services, traffic engineering, and converged optical & packet networking.
• Strong writing and publish-ready content ability.
• Experience with OEM networks management/automation platforms.

Responsibilities

Job description

As a Core Networking Technical Solutions Architect II, you will lead technical pre-sales design and design delivery across our core networking practice architecting multi-vendor solutions, developing Bills of Materials, presenting designs directly to customers, running lab builds and supporting Proofs of Concept, and publishing content that establishes WWT as a technical market leader in this space.

• Architecture & Design: Design multi-vendor Core Networking solutions across Underlay Transport, Carrier Services, and Traffic Engineering for service provider, large enterprise, and public sector customers.
• Solution Development: Build Bill of Materials, including cross-vendor equivalencies, to support proposed Core Networking solutions.
• Customer & Field Engagement: Present designs and BOM rationale to technical and executive stakeholders, lead workshops and briefings, and support RFP/RFI responses.
• Lab & Proof of Concept: Design and stand up hands‑on lab builds in WWT's Advanced Technology Center, and scope/execute customer POC engagements with defined success criteria.
• Technical Leadership & Enablement: Publish technical content that establishes WWT as a market leader, maintain OEM certifications and vendor relationships, and mentor customers and WWT team members on current and emerging Core Networking technologies., Presentation & Messaging - Translates complex multi‑vendor designs into a clear narrative for both technical and executive audiences.
• Requirements Discovery - Surfaces the real technical requirements and recommends the right solution for the customer's outcome.
• Cross‑Technical Domain Collaboration - brings together expertise from across WWT's technology teams to drive the customer's desired outcome.
• Mentorship & Cross‑Team Collaboration - Mentor customers and WWT team members on current and emerging Core Networking technologies; work cross‑functionally with other teams on complex, multi‑technology solutions

• 8+ years of experience designing and delivering complex networking solutions for customers.
• Deep, hands‑on expertise in interior routing, Segment Routing (SR‑MPLS/SRv6), BGP/EVPN carrier services, traffic engineering, and Converged Optical & Packet Networking, on at least one major platform (Cisco IOS XR, Junos, or Nokia SR OS).
• Expert‑level knowledge equivalent to Cisco CCIE Service Provider, HPE (Juniper) JNCIE‑SP, or Nokia Service Routing Architect (SRA).
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to produce publish‑ready content on short cycles.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently across long‑term, complex architectural engagements and diverse, cross‑functional teams., Multi‑vendor hands‑on fluency across Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia beyond the primary certification platform.
• Experience with OEM network management/automation platforms e.g., Cisco Crosswork, Juniper Routing Director, Nokia NSP.
• Security adjacency MPLS/VPN hardening, BGP RPKI/route validation, PQC (Post‑Quantum Cryptography) routing.
• Experience with AI‑driven network operations (AIOps) AI‑assisted assurance and closed‑loop automation platforms.
• Experience extending core routing into hyperscaler cloud connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Interconnect).
