Job Title: Technical Services Manager
Location: Fairford
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Car Allowance
Hours: Full Time, Permanent

Are you an experienced mechanical or HVAC professional looking to step into a technical leadership role? We’re looking for a Technical Services Manager to oversee the mechanical and HVAC systems across a large estate in Fairford.

As the Technical Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of maintenance engineers and ensuring that all planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered to the highest standards. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in building services, mechanical engineering, or HVAC systems who’s ready to take on a senior technical position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of engineers delivering maintenance on mechanical, HVAC, and building systems

• Ensure statutory and mandatory compliance across all mechanical systems

• Supervise external contractors, ensuring quality, compliance, and project handovers are completed properly

• Collaborate with the wider estate team to implement and manage a robust maintenance programme

• Oversee RAMS, H&S documentation, and compliance with JSP 375 and HSE guidance

• Monitor asset performance and take corrective action where necessary

• Support training and mentoring of apprentices and junior team members

• Represent the department in client meetings and technical reviews

• Participate in the on-call rota as part of the management team

What We’re Looking For:

• Recognised qualifications in mechanical or HVAC engineering

• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation (e.g. COSHH, RIDDOR)

• Proven experience leading technical or engineering teams in a similar environment

• Ability to obtain SC-level security clearance

• Full UK driving licence

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

• Previous experience working on MOD or government contracts

• First Aid and Health & Safety training

• Membership of a relevant professional engineering body

• Multiskilled background (though single-trade specialists also welcome)
