Technology Services Director

Location: Manchester or Leeds (Hybrid)

Salary: upto £140,000 per annum + Benefits

Overview

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a group-wide technology services function in an organisation undergoing its most ambitious transformation to date. With a new leadership team, a clear strategic vision and major investment in technology, the business is poised for the next stage of growth and this role will be at the heart of making it happen.

As Technology Services Director, you will be accountable for shaping and delivering the vision for enterprise technology services. This is not just about operational stability, it’s about creating a scalable, data-driven, service-oriented organisation that enables innovation, drives customer value, and delivers resilience at pace and scale. Reporting directly to the CIO, you\'ll operate as a trusted strategic partner to the board and senior leadership, ensuring technology services become a true enabler of business ambition.

Responsibilities
  • Set the agenda: Define and implement the long-term vision, strategy and operating model for technology services across applications, platforms, data and infrastructure.
  • Lead at scale: Direct multi-disciplinary teams across IT operations, service management, service desk, end-user support and enterprise data, embedding a culture of performance, accountability and innovation.
  • Shape the future: Drive modernisation and automation programmes that transform technology services into a strategic growth enabler.
  • Board-level influence: Engage with C-suite and senior stakeholders to align investment decisions, manage risk, and ensure technology services underpin enterprise objectives.
  • Operational excellence: Ensure the highest levels of service availability, security, compliance and resilience across all platforms and services.
  • Data leadership: Own enterprise data services and governance, enabling analytics, AI/ML and data-driven decision making.
  • Vendor and partner strategy: Optimise sourcing, negotiate at executive level, and ensure supplier ecosystems deliver real competitive advantage.
The Leader We're Looking For
  • We are seeking a transformational leader with the credibility and vision to lead a mission-critical function in a complex, high-growth organisation.
  • Extensive senior leadership experience across technology services, infrastructure and enterprise IT operations.
  • Proven track record of setting vision and delivering transformation at enterprise scale.
  • Gravitas and influence to operate credibly at board and C-suite level.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, able to inspire, challenge and develop diverse teams through change.
  • Deep knowledge of infrastructure, platform and service management best practice (ITIL, cloud, networking, automation).
  • Commercial acumen and external presence to manage strategic suppliers, engage stakeholders and represent technology services externally.
