Technical Service Specialist at ABB

Support Services Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standards and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. You will execute technical support, act as a specialist, and solve problems within your expertise. Proactively communicating with customers and ABB sales teams, you will ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities are leveraged for service growth.

Work model: #LI - Remote

This role contributes to the Electrification Smart Power division in NY, serving both internal and external customers.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. Providing technical support and solving problems in your expertise area via remote or on-site service across Service categories.
  2. Determining effective Service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market, or manufacture new Service offerings to meet customer requirements cost-effectively.
  3. Providing technical consulting on Service solutions to management and customers.
  4. Identifying new sales opportunities and communicating proactively with customers and ABB sales teams to understand needs and utilize opportunities for service growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Support or a related role, focusing on Critical Power Systems (Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Power Distribution, Static Switch, Battery, Power Conditioning Systems).
  • Preferred certifications: NETA, NICET, CompTIA, Licensed Electrician.
  • Applicants must have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
