Summary of the Job

The Technical Services Scientist will;

Conduct analysis of contaminants and additives in food & feed matrices using the company’s range of immunoaffinity products in order to provide technical support to customers.

Provide practical demonstrations of the company’s products to the sales force, distributors and customers.

Communicate analytical results and findings through report writing and presentations.

Produce analytical data suitable for use in promotional materials, including but not limited to, posters and application notes.

Perform method development and validation of analytical methods.

Qualifications and Work Experience

Degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, food science or a related discipline or extensive work experience in analytical chemistry.

Laboratory experience (obtained from summer placement, university placement or previous job role).

Essential Experience & Knowledge

Able to operate HPLC-UV/FLD systems with relevant software.

Practical experience in the extraction of contaminants and additives from food & feed matrices or other complex matrices.

Accurate recording of experimental work and report writing.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Desirable Experience & Knowledge

Able to maintain and troubleshoot HPLC-UV/FLD systems with Chromeleon software.

Able to operate LC-MS/MS systems with relevant software.

Practical experience of clean-up techniques such as immunoaffinity columns or SPE columns.

Awareness of food & feed contaminant and additive legislation.

Awareness of working standards, for example ISO 9001 or similar.
