Job Description

We're recruiting for a Systems Actuary to join our multi-award-winning Pension Risk Transfer business. We're offering a competitive base salary, 12% car allowance, and a great benefits package, as well as the opportunity to provide pivotal actuarial input and support to various systems and processes used within our PRT business.

You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our systems and working on continually improving these on an iterative basis, so we can continue to provide our customers with great outcomes and retain our position as a market leader in this sector.

This role is based from our central Glasgow Office on a hybrid working arrangement. So you can split your week between your home and the office to find a work-life balance that suits you. What you'll be doing:

1. Providing actuarial and technical support to manage calculation changes to the DB onboarding systems and claims calculators
2. Leading the planning, design, and delivery of actuarial and calculation changes for these systems
3. Mapping existing processes for improvement and presenting alternatives
4. Writing technical actuarial specifications for new systems
5. Maintaining and developing test/regression packs for system releases and improvements
6. Providing PRT scheme, actuarial, calculation, and data expertise to various teams
7. Analysing feedback to ensure customer expectations of performance and service are met
8. Training and supporting the wider team, helping with their development

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

1. Qualified Actuary with a good understanding of DB Pensions
2. Strong experience in technical system development
3. Programming experience preferred (VB, JAVA, C#)
4. In-depth understanding of defined benefit pension schemes
5. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and financial skills
6. Proven ability to build effective relationships in complex environments
7. Strong communication skills with the ability to filter technical information to a non-technical audience and vice versa
8. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence a broad range of individuals
