Job description

JOB SPECIFICATION: TECHNICAL SERVICE ENGINEER

Date: January 2025

The Engineering Technology Group, based at the prestigious Wellesbourne Distribution Park, is actively seeking an experienced and professional Technical Support Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installations, servicing, and breakdown requests, delivering first-class customer care, and positively representing the ETG brand at all times. Development and training opportunities will be available.

Responsibilities:
  1. Communicate positively and efficiently with the Service Desk.
  2. Visit customer sites to install, service, and repair machines.
  3. Ensure jobs are left in full working order and liaise with customers.
  4. Familiarise yourself with customer rules, working practices, and health and safety policies at customer sites.
  5. Provide feedback to the Service Desk regarding problems/issues encountered on site.
  6. Be prepared to lodge away from home if required by the job/customer.
Requirements:
  1. Ability to install, service, and repair CNC machines and equipment.
  2. Ability to fault find, diagnose, and correct errors on CNC machine tools.
  3. Experience in assembling, setting up, and dismantling hydraulic, pneumatic, and large mechanical assemblies.
  4. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with problem-solving skills.
  5. Knowledge of part identification and engineering drawings.
  6. Mechanical and electrical qualifications/experience.
  7. PLC knowledge.
  8. Excellent customer service, communication, and organisational skills.
  9. PC literacy.
  10. Previous experience in a service team environment.
