DSG is seeking a HVAC Technical Service Advisor to work out of our Aberdeen, Rapid City, or Sioux Falls, SD branch. The TSA will serve DSG customers and internal Sales Associates as technical representatives in their areas of expertise related to specific vendor product lines. Additionally, the TSA will support marketing and promotion of these product lines. Travel throughout South Dakota may be required.

A Typical Day in the Life of a HVAC Technical Service Advisor:

  • Support DSG customers and Sales Team by providing technical knowledge of assigned product lines.
  • Maintain product knowledge through factory trainings and certifications; research issues from factory, industry data, or online resources as needed.
  • Act as the primary contact with factory technical support on product selection, installation, commissioning, diagnosing issues, corrective actions, and warranty support.
  • Assist the Market Segment Business Development Manager in identifying market needs within specific product areas.
  • Support training sessions on market-specific needs, including in-house or onsite presentations, trade shows, demonstration trailers, or classroom training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

A Successful HVAC Technical Service Advisor Typically Has:

  • High school diploma required; college degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and solve technical problems.
  • Ability to analyze problems, propose solutions, make decisions, and follow up with feedback.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to lead and effectively engage with customers, vendors, and internal teams via various communication channels.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize work effectively, and work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills.
