Job summary

The Hut Group (THG) invites applications for a Technical Security - Support Engineer role. You will help maintain compliance and functionality across security disciplines for a global portfolio including corporate offices, fulfilment centres, and experience sites.

You will own backend configuration for CCTV and Access Control, ensure GDPR compliance, and work with IT, Facilities and other teams to align security with business needs. This role offers strong cross-site impact and growth potential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of technical systems and software configurations.
• Experience across multiple sites or regions in a global or multi-site org.
• Solid knowledge of data protection requirements (GDPR/ICO).
• Proven track record configuring CCTV and Access Control systems (Genetec, Milestone, Lenel, HID, Gallagher, Avigilon).
• Relevant technical certifications (CCTV/access control, networking such as CCNA/Network+).
• Experience with PSIM or building management system integration.

Responsibilities

• Own backend configuration and technical oversight of global CCTV and Access Control platforms (permissions, onboarding, architecture, integrations, firmware updates).
• Ensure systems comply with GDPR, industry standards and internal security policies.
• Collaborate with IT, Facilities, HR and Legal to align security tech with business needs.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, installers, integrators and maintenance contractors.
• Support development of a long-term technical security roadmap aligned with growth and risk appetite.

As Technical Security - Support Engineer , you'll:

• Own (where needed) the backend configuration, administration, and technical oversight of global CCTV and Access Control platforms (e.g. user permissions, device onboarding, system architecture, integrations, and firmware/software updates).
• Ensure all systems comply with relevant data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR), industry standards, and internal security policies.
• Work closely with IT, Facilities, HR, Legal, and other divisional teams to align security technology with wider business needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key technology suppliers, installers, integrators and maintenance contractors.
• Support the development of a long-term technical security roadmap aligned with business growth and risk appetite.

What skills and experience do I need for this role?

• Good understanding of technical systems, user interfaces and software configurations
• Experience working across multiple sites/regions, ideally in a global or multi-site organisation.
• Solid understanding of data protection and compliance requirements relevant to security technology (e.g. GDPR, ICO guidance).
• Proven experience configuring and managing enterprise-level CCTV and Access Control systems (e.g. Genetec, Milestone, Lenel, HID, Gallagher, Avigilon, or similar).
• Relevant technical certifications (e.g. manufacturer-specific certifications for CCTV/access control platforms, networking certifications such as CompTIA Network+/CCNA).
• Experience with integrated security management platforms (PSIM) or building management system integration.
