Job Description
Your role
The Technical Security Project Manager serves as the subject matter expert for implementing physical security standards and systems on projects within the region. They will analyze physical security standards and system requirements, overlay these with business and DC site operations needs, and identify opportunities for efficiency and security improvements aligned with Global standards set by the Global Security function.
What you'll do
- Ensure consistent, effective, and appropriate physical security standards and systems are implemented in collaboration with design, construction, security, and information security stakeholders.
- Act as a subject matter expert and point of contact for physical security systems at a regional level.
- Monitor third-party consultants' productivity and ensure key performance objectives are met.
- Support design reviews, RFIs, and approvals during architectural design and construction milestones.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal IT, core technology, and other departmental stakeholders.
- Maintain security system governance aligned with company, industry, legislative, and regulatory standards across regions.
- Assist in setting organizational goals, including project budgets and oversight during implementation.
Security Project related responsibilities
- Oversee application of security standards for new data center projects and major upgrades, directing third-party consultants and local teams.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Security and DTEG to include physical security standards in design and engineering requirements.
- Plan and coordinate new installations or upgrades of security systems according to Global Security standards.
- Manage onboarding of third-party consultants, including scope, vendor review, recommendations, and training.
- Develop project scopes and collaborate with vendors to ensure effective, timely, and budget-compliant implementation.
- Use project management techniques to prioritize and manage multiple technology deployments.
Technical Expertise
- Stay informed about emerging security system technologies and their applications within the business.
What you'll need
- Formal project management qualification such as Prince2.
- Security certifications such as CPP, PSP preferred, or current user certifications with AMAG and/or Lenel.
- Experience with access control, intrusion detection, video management systems, and security management system design, implementation, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of security management practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with varying complexity; minimum 5 years in data center industry and 10 years in project management.
- Experience identifying operational and technological efficiencies and managing project handovers and training.
- Recent experience in industrial physical security management across different countries.
- Proven experience with security tendering processes and integrating multiple software platforms.
