  • BSc and/or MSc in Cyber Security, CS, IT, or related subject, or relevant industry experience.
  • 5+ years in cybersecurity, security architecture, or related disciplines (Defence/regulatory).
  • Design and implement Zero Trust architectures aligned with NIST SP 800-207.
  • Strong IAM, network, endpoint, cloud security, and security monitoring knowledge.
  • Experience integrating security architectures across enterprise, cloud, and infra.
  • Ability to translate business and security requirements into architectural solutions.
  • Familiar with SABSA and TOGAF frameworks.
  • Understanding of threat modelling, risk assessment, and secure-by-design principles.
  • Experience with security standards: NIST, ISO 27001, JSP 440, HMG SPF, Defence standards.
  • Ability to work across multi-vendor ecosystems and select technologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership; able to influence security strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Joint Design Team security lead with technical security guidance.
  • Design and implement security architectures based on Zero Trust.
  • Architect solutions and lead their implementation adhering to customer policies.
  • Work with the customer's architecture team to develop solutions.
  • Assess security risks, identify vulnerabilities, define requirements.
  • Develop and enforce security policy standards for compliance.
  • Collaborate with business, security, infrastructure and compliance teams to build roadmaps.
  • Mentor and guide team members to develop skills.
  • Promote security products and ensure best-fit solutions.
  • Continuously update knowledge of security aspects of products.
  • Build customer trust through proactive consultancy.

Job description

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:
  • BSc and/or MSc in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related subject, or relevant industry experience.
  • At least 5 years experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or related disciplines, including delivering security solutions in Defence or highly regulated environments.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing Zero Trust architectures aligned with NIST SP 800-207 principles.
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), network security, endpoint security, cloud security, and security monitoring.
  • Experience developing and integrating security architectures within enterprise, cloud, and infrastructure architectures.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders, capture business and security requirements, and translate them into practical architectural solutions.
  • Working knowledge of architectural frameworks such as SABSA and TOGAF.
  • Strong understanding of threat modelling, risk assessment, and secure-by-design principles, and the ability to apply them to architectural decisions.
  • Experience interpreting and applying security standards, frameworks, and regulatory requirements, including NIST, ISO 27001, JSP 440, the HMG Security Policy Framework, and relevant Defence and industry standards.
  • Ability to work across multi-vendor security ecosystems and select and integrate appropriate technologies.
  • Excellent communication, consultancy, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, including the ability to influence security strategy and transformation initiatives.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications may include CompTIA Security CASP (or SecurityX), CIISEC associate membership, CCSP, CISSP, ISSAP, CESG Certified Cyber Professional (CCP) in Security Architecture or Risk Management, cloud security qualifications for Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google, CISM, CISA, or equivalent professional certifications.
  • An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Must meet applicable UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including residency requirements for the role; some roles may have nationality requirements.
  • Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom and be able to work on-site in Hampshire.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Joint Design Team security lead by providing technical security advice and guidance to the team and relevant client third parties.
  • Design and implement security architectures based on Zero Trust principles, protecting enterprise systems, applications, data, and cloud environments.
  • Architect solutions and technically lead their implementation, ensuring they adhere to customer security policies and standards, including on-premises secure cloud and Zero Trust solutions.
  • Work with the customers architecture team to develop solutions.
  • Assess security risks, identify vulnerabilities, and define security requirements to address current and future threats.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policy standards to support compliance with customer security and legal requirements.
  • Work with business, security, infrastructure, and compliance teams to develop security roadmaps, assess risks, integrate security technologies, and align with relevant frameworks.
  • Support colleagues with architectural and technical issues, sharing knowledge and experience.
  • Maintain working knowledge of our security products and services, promote them with the customer, and encourage best-fit solutions.
  • Continually review and enhance knowledge of the security aspects of common products and technologies.
  • Build customer trust through proactive consultancy.
  • Mentor and guide team members to help develop their skills and capabilities.
