Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology is seeking a Technical Sales Support Engineer to join our Plasma Technology team in Bristol. You will bridge customers, Sales, Engineering, and Operations to deliver tailored solutions, from technical quotations to tender support and order handover.

You will develop detailed technical responses, manage non-standard requests, and support product development while ensuring high-quality customer experiences across global semiconductor markets.

Qualifications

• A degree in a Science or Engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in technical sales support, applications engineering, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
• Experience in semiconductor, capital equipment, or scientific instrumentation industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of customer applications, technical requirements, and business objectives.
• Provide expert technical support to customers, sales teams, and global representatives throughout the sales cycle.
• Create accurate quotations, technical specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Manage quotation activities to deliver timely, high-quality responses.
• Support tender submissions by coordinating technical responses with commercial teams.
• Review non-standard engineering requests and communicate risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Product Management to drive standardisation and future product development.
• Act as the voice of the customer and feed back into product solutions.
• Ensure smooth handover to delivery teams after order placement.
• Maintain CRM and quotation databases to drive efficiency.
