Cara Technology is a global leader in sensory science, flavour standards, and brewing technology. Founded in 1995, we are the creators of AROXA Certified Flavour Standards, used by over 15,000 trained tasters worldwide to support sensory panel training and quality control across beer, cider, spirits, and beyond.
We support producers globally with tools, training, and technical advice to help them improve flavour quality and sensory performance. In addition to our flavour standards and software, we also provide production yeast for leading international beer brands.
We are seeking a technically skilled and commercially-minded individual to join our team as a Technical Sales Representative. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of brewing or fermentation science, a passion for flavour, and experience working with sensory or quality control systems.
In this role, you will support customers across the alcoholic beverage sector, helping them implement and improve their sensory programmes. You will be responsible for selling our flavour standards, training services, and supporting tools, while offering expert technical guidance. This is a home-based role with significant autonomy, and regular travel to client sites, events, and training sessions is expected.
Customer Support & Sensory Advice
Provide technical advice to customers on sensory best practices, panel design, and quality control procedures
Support the implementation and improvement of sensory programmes using AROXA flavour standards
Offer remote and in-person support following training and product delivery
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering high-quality service and technical value
Technical Sales & Account Management
Develop and manage strong relationships with existing customers
Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities within the alcoholic beverage industry
Respond to inbound enquiries and proactively generate new leads
Manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools and collaborate with internal teams to forecast activity
Training & Industry Engagement
Assist in the delivery of virtual and in-person training sessions
Attend and represent AROXA at industry events, trade shows, and technical conferences
Maintain a strong awareness of brewing, fermentation, and sensory science trends
Engage with the wider brewing community as a representative of our technical team
We are looking for someone with a technical foundation in brewing or fermentation, ideally paired with sensory experience. You should be comfortable presenting, advising, and building long-term relationships, and be excited to travel internationally and engage with producers around the world.
Essential Skills and Experience
Strong knowledge of brewing or fermentation processes (e.g., brewing science degree or production experience)
Familiarity with sensory evaluation techniques and quality control protocols
Experience using or supporting flavour standards or sensory training tools
Excellent communication skills and confidence working with customers, both remotely and in-person
A proactive, independent work ethic and strong organisational skills
Comfort with remote working tools and CRM systems (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Highrise or similar)
Experience in a customer-facing or sales role within the drinks industry
Prior involvement in running or participating in tasting panels
Exposure to cider, spirits, or RTD production in addition to beer
Interest in expanding sensory support to other sectors such as coffee, juice, or food (if needed)
