Technical Sales Manager - Industrial & Process

Location: UK & Home Based

The Opportunity

A growing international engineering business is looking for a driven Technical Area Sales Manager to help expand its presence across the UK. This is an opportunity to take ownership of your territory, uncover new opportunities and work with customers across a variety of industries, from food manufacturing and petrochemicals to energy and pharmaceutical.

We’re looking for an ambitious sales professional with a technical mindset, strong commercial instincts and the confidence to build lasting relationships. Experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical sectors would be beneficial, but a proven drive to succeed and a proactive approach are just as important.

The Role

• Develop and grow sales across the UK, identifying opportunities across a diverse range of sectors
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and winning new business
• Understand customer applications and technical requirements, recommending suitable solutions
• Identify opportunities across industries such as chemical, energy, steel, food and pharmaceutical
• Work with internal teams to deliver commercially competitive proposals
• Collaborate with technical colleagues and international teams to develop tailored customer solutions
• Identify opportunities for additional sales and develop existing accounts
• Build relationships with OEMs, engineers, procurement teams and other key decision makers
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and customer information using CRM systems
• Work towards agreed sales targets and contribute to the wider commercial strategy
• Manage the territory independently while working closely with the wider business

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working in a technical sales position
• An engineering background, with chemical, process or product engineering experience would be advantageous but not essential
• Experience selling technical products, components or engineered solutions
• A background in an industrial, manufacturing or process-driven environment
• Can understand complex technical applications and communicate solutions effectively to customers
• Strong relationship-building, communication and business development skills
• Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for growth
• A proactive, organised and self-motivated approach
• Natural drive and keen to learn
• An existing network within the UK chemical, petrochemical or environmental technology sectors would be a significant advantage
• Must have a full driving licence
