Job summary

Cross Rental Ltd. in Warrington is seeking a technically skilled professional to bridge sales, engineering and customers in commercial refrigeration projects.

You will take ownership of the technical aspects of projects, from initial discussions to practical designs, site visits and handover, ensuring solutions are safe, viable and meet customer needs. This role combines sales support with deep technical input and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in commercial refrigeration
• A relevant refrigeration engineering qualification
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate confidently with customers and internal teams
• Collaborative, service-focused approach with good organisation skills
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
• Current UK F-Gas certification
• Experience supporting a sales or commercial team with quotations or site surveys

Responsibilities

• Support the sales team with technical advice and solution development for commercial refrigeration projects
• Liaise directly with customers to understand and qualify project requirements
• Provide technical input into quotations, proposals, tenders and customer presentations
• Review equipment selections for suitability, serviceability, safety and value
• Respond to day-to-day technical queries and help resolve equipment or customer issues
• Conduct site visits and surveys to capture conditions and operational needs
• Support solution handover and early delivery stages
• Maintain up-to-date product and application knowledge and share best practice across the team
• Ensure solutions are practical, efficient, safe and commercially viable

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a high-impact technical role where you’ll be at the centre of delivering refrigeration solutions for real-world customer challenges.

Acting as the bridge between sales, engineering and the customer, you’ll take ownership of the technical side of projects. Whether it’s a planned project or an urgent breakdown scenario, you’ll be the person who quickly understands what’s needed and turns that into a practical, workable refrigeration solution.

You’ll work closely with the retail sales team, translating conversations into technical designs — advising on the right equipment, reviewing proposed solutions, and ensuring they are both commercially viable and technically sound. At the same time, you’ll engage directly with customers, asking the right questions and giving them confidence in the solution.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for someone with strong commercial refrigeration knowledge and a practical, solutions-focused mindset. Whether you are currently in a technical support role looking for progression or an experienced refrigeration engineer looking to move closer to sales and customers.

• Practical experience in commercial refrigeration (ideally within retail, service, rental or a customer-focused technical environment)
• A relevant refrigeration engineering qualification and solid knowledge of commercial refrigeration equipment and applications
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• The ability to communicate confidently with both customers and internal teams
• A collaborative, service-focused approach with good organisation skills
• Full valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
• Current UK F-Gas certification
• Experience supporting a sales or commercial team with quotations, proposals or site surveys
• Background in equipment rental, temporary cooling or retail refrigeration projects
