Job description

Specialists in providing engineered above ground drainage and water supply systems, Polypipe Building Services leverages offsite fabrication to design and deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors as well as local authorities. Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high rise residential, healthcare, education and leisure projects for over 50 years.

Role: This role will be project focussed, to sell the entire range of products which Polypipe Building Services offer into the commercial market.

The product ranges include above ground drainage, water supply systems, advantage fabrication systems and all associated building services products/services.

Area: Scotland, Cumbria & Northern Ireland.

We are happy to discuss this role with candidates who do not come directly from a sales background and are looking to get into sales. Candidates who come from a commercial / maintenance / plumbing / installer background who are also interested in getting into sales will be considered. Please get in touch for more information.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Responsibility to deliver expected conversion rates on a select number of projects following a cradle to grave approach in collaboration with the wider sales team.
  2. Liaising with all key stakeholders on new projects, while documenting progress and activities on all personally assigned opportunities.
  3. Effective and forward diary planning.
  4. Managing Contractor terms and agreements, including regular reviews on levels and spend to justify terms.
  5. Providing first line technical dialogue and information to your selected customer base.
  6. Liaising with clients and dealing with objections.
  7. Dealing with all incoming enquiries quickly and providing excellent customer service to our customers.
  8. All reporting is to be completed weekly on the CRM system.
  9. Identifying incremental growth opportunities.
  10. Representing and supporting the business at various social and brand awareness events.
  11. Site Assistance and technical training.
  12. Own the delivery and supply of your projects by supporting our operational departments.

Requirements / Experience:

  1. An excellent knowledge of the M&E marketplace, and a proven track record of working on large scale commercial projects together with a capability to handle technical dialogue at all levels, and experience of presenting to groups.
  2. Ability to quickly become a technical specialist in Polypipe Building Services (PBS products and services).
  3. An understanding of the project stages and decision making process in commercial construction.
  4. Driving licence is essential for this role as there will be travel involved.
