Overview

Technical Sales Engineer- Southwest

Focused area: PL, TQ, EX, TR, TA, DT

Wider area: BH, BS, BA, SP, SN.

Due to continued growth, we’re adding a new Technical Sales Manager to strengthen our ever-growing external team across the East Midlands and surrounding areas.

This is a full-time remote role. As a Technical Sales Manager at Tungaloy-NTK UK, you’ll manage key accounts, provide hands-on technical support to customers, and drive sales growth. You’ll work closely with the sales team and customer service to ensure exceptional end-to-end support. The role needs excellent communication and presentation skills, and a strong understanding of our product offering and the needs of our target industries.

Key Accountabilities
  • Be proactive, focused and driven to meet sales targets.
  • Understand, interpret and manage customer requirements with the confidence to negotiate and close sales.
  • Communicate and build rapport effectively with our partners and customers.
  • Provide pre-sales and after-sales technical assistance, sharing your knowledge of cutting tools, conducting technical presentations and demonstrating how a cutting tool will meet customer needs.
  • Document cost-saving activity and maintaining the CRM system.
  • Work with our talented product team to create custom-made products for customers.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences and other marketing events to generate new contacts and develop existing relationships, enhancing our reputation for delivering quality cutting tools that exceed customers’ expectations.
Candidate
  • You will have had success selling metal cutting tools, or be a time-served multi-skilled engineer with strong knowledge of correctly applying cutting tools.
  • You can advise optimum metal removal rates on Milling, Drilling, Grooving, Turning and Threading applications, reducing the customer’s cost per part.
  • Comfortable reading engineering drawings; ideally you have a Mechanical Engineering qualification or a completed technical apprenticeship.
  • You are a disciplined, target-driven individual capable of working on your own initiative.
  • Whether or not you’ve held a sales role before, you’ll bring first-class communication and negotiation skills combined with a winning mentality.
Must haves
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Strong people skills and time management.
  • Willing to travel across the territory, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Comfortable running on-machine trials/time studies and presenting results.
  • Suitable home workspace and reliable broadband (remote role).
  • At least one of the following:
    • 3+ years’ experience applying cutting tools on the shop floor.
    • 2+ years’ experience selling cutting tools.
