Technical Sales Engineer

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Southend
  • Salary: £30,000 to £45,000 dependent on experience

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Technical Sales Engineerto join a dynamic team. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with existing and potential customers, identifying sales opportunities, and ensuring the seamless operation of the Sales Department.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and maintain contacts with existing and potential customers to promote the Company’s products and services.
  • Organise and plan personal visits to identify sales opportunities, making technical presentations and explanations to agents and potential customers as necessary.
  • Negotiate sales contracts ensuring payment terms and predicted profit margins align with the Company’s policies, unless otherwise agreed by the Technical Sales Manager.
  • Liaise with various departments including commercial, projects, drawing office, and workshops to ensure proper transfer of information on new orders.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Office Coordinator and other sales staff to ensure continuity of operations in the Sales Department during absences.
  • Work with the Sales Office Coordinator to develop and maintain appropriate customer and sales records.
  • Assist the Technical Sales Manager in developing and updating the company’s promotional literature, website, and exhibition artwork as required.
  • Identify opportunities for new products or product development and coordinate with relevant departments for implementation.
