Sales Engineer - Elevate Your Career in Technical Sales

Are you a dynamic professional with a knack for technical sales and a passion for driving business growth? This is a permanent, full-time role working for a manufacturing company supplying the renewable energy market offering a salary up to £35k per annum based in Coventry.

As Technical Sales Engineer reporting into the Sales Manager you will be part of a small sales team of 3. You will utilise your B2B technical sales background to proactively seek new business opportunities as well as increase existing business, booking appointments to visit prospects, provide quotations and convert into orders. The main responsibilities are:

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Revenue Growth: Identify, secure, and close business opportunities to drive year-on-year revenue growth.
  2. Client Engagement: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients, providing excellent pre and post-sales support.
  3. Market Research: Conduct research on target clients and follow up on leads to identify new business development opportunities.
  4. Sales Targets: Work diligently to achieve sales targets, providing technical advice and tailored solutions to meet client needs.
  5. Collaboration: Liaise regularly with the commercial team and other departments, ensuring seamless communication and feedback.
  6. Technical Expertise: Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and specialised training to client staff as required.
  7. Market Awareness: Stay informed about competitors and market trends, providing timely feedback for new product ideas and development.
Skills and Experience Required:
  1. B2B Experience: Ideally with a background in technical sales - any knowledge of renewable energy, water, or specification sales would be advantageous but not essential.
  2. Team Collaboration: A strong team player who can work effectively with sales, R&D, manufacturing, and logistics departments.
  3. Proactive Attitude: A positive, can-do attitude with a proactive approach to generating new business and managing existing accounts.
  4. Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities, capable of engaging with ground-level users, procurement teams, and director-level personnel.
  5. Driving Licence: A valid driving licence and own vehicle are essential. Business miles are reimbursed according to HMRC guidelines.
