JOB: Technical Sales Engineer

LOCATION: Southampton

TERM: Permanent

SALARY: £35,000-£45,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client designs and manufactures specialist solutions for Engineering. They are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer who has experience with Leak Detection to join their team in the Southampton area on a permanent basis.

The Sales Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

1. Experience in / knowledge of Leak Detection
2. Ideally be experienced in Technical Sales, with knowledge of quotations, technical specifications and orders
3. Strong understanding of Engineering Projects
4. Ideally have knowledge of pipes, valves, pumps, etc.
5. HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Engineering or similar
6. Be keen to develop as part of an organisation long term
7. Good time management skills
8. Be self-motivated and driven
9. Proficient with using Microsoft Office - any CRM database knowledge would be a plus
10. Excellent communication skills are required
11. Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team

The Sales Engineer role will involve:

1. Working directly with customers to understand their requirements and produce quotations and orders
2. Understanding the technical side of how their products are designed and built
3. Being involved in processing and progressing sales
4. Reacting to inquiries
5. Investigating and resolving sales enquiries from both customers and distributors
6. Offering a proactive Account Management approach for Distributors and updating customers at regular stages
7. Liaising with different departments and colleagues as required
8. Having the opportunity to grow with the company long term
