Technical Sales Engineer – Derby – £60,000 - £70,000

Chase & Holland are proud to be working with an established and innovative business who are looking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team. The purpose of this role is to secure profitable engineering contracts. The business is currently working on some exciting projects with big clients, making it a great time to join!

Technical Sales Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Managing customers’ expectations and securing profitable contracts
  • Ensuring that project concepts and plans are produced, communicated, and understood across the business
  • Taking responsibility for assigned accounts and customers
  • Understanding and managing risk (technical, commercial, financial, and program) for project proposals to protect the company
  • Meeting sales targets for profitability
  • Inspiring others to achieve high standards of business excellence
  • Working closely with Directors and Management to set and maintain departmental strategy to meet business targets and KPIs
  • Producing business plans and acquiring market knowledge
  • Ensuring deadlines are met by customers and the organization
  • Managing sales pipeline and producing development plans
  • Undertaking customer visits and reporting
  • Promoting long-term framework agreements and contracts
  • Providing effective reporting

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Engineering, Business, or Manufacturing Qualification at HND level or equivalent
  • Extensive commercial and technical experience in similar industries and roles
  • Experience in enquiry and bid management
  • Experience in producing sales proposals within similar industries
  • Ability to sustain customer relationships leading to profitable sales
  • Ability to independently plan, organize, and work to tight deadlines
