Technical Sales Engineer – Midlands
Salary up to £55k Per annum Car
10% pension

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in the Midlands. Reporting to the UK Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing key customer projects, and providing technical support for key accounts in the region. You will play an integral role in promoting and selling high-performance end mills and UK special products, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve Sales Growth: Drive sales against agreed targets for High-Performance End Mills and UK specials.
  • Maximise Margins: Focus on margin maximisation in all sales and customer activities.
  • Customer Management: Effectively manage key customer projects, provide exceptional service, and offer technical support.
  • Programming Support: Offer programming support for selected key accounts within the Midlands area.
  • Tool Selection & Troubleshooting: Provide cutting advice, tool selection, and troubleshooting to end users.
  • Generate Opportunities: Identify and generate sales opportunities through tool trials and distribution partnerships.
  • Technical Training: Train distribution sales personnel and end users on the features and benefits of the business’s product range.
  • Reporting & Feedback: Provide detailed and timely reporting of sales activities, market trends, and customer feedback.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC, HND in Engineering or similar).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in CNC - CAD/CAM programming. Experience with hyperMILL or NX is preferred.
  • Sales & Negotiation: Strong sales, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Financial Understanding: Basic understanding of cost and margin calculations.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong time management and logistical abilities.
  • Positive Attitude: A proactive, optimistic, and can-do attitude.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cutting tools and machining applications.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (XP) and CRM/MRP systems.
  • Programming software experience, including hyperMILL or NX.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination of sales, marketing, and technical support in the Midlands.
  • Attend trade shows and act as a technical advisor.
  • Support the UK Sales Manager with budget planning, forecasting, and distribution selection.
  • Attend relevant global training courses and technical meetings.
  • Support global projects and applications as needed.
  • Ensure the seamless implementation of all the business’s products and strategies.
