The Job Summary

Wrightbus, Europe's fastest-growing production company, seeks a Technical Sales Engineer, this person will contribute to the flow and accuracy of information in relation to the sales specification. This role will require strong working relationships between the customer, the sales representative and Wrightbus engineering.

The Role
Key Tasks
  • Assist NPD in formulating new product specifications to ensure commonality with current specifications.
  • Take responsibility for the specification from initial bid to completion, ensuring all information is complete before passing to design engineering.
  • Manage customer specification to ensure alignment with tender submission.
  • Manage base specification to ensure alignment with standard BOM.
  • Manage new option proposals to customers and into the business regarding: a.) Option costs based on detailed estimates of material and labour b.) Accurate understanding of customer agreement c.) Timeline for introduction d.) Ensuring options are manufactured to expected cost
  • Act as the link between Sales and Design Engineering to ensure smooth, timely information flow.
  • Report on and meet agreed KPIs for the department.
The Requirements
  • 3rd Level qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Extensive design experience in a Bus engineering and manufacturing organisation
  • Experience in a role managing customer specifications
  • Knowledge of bus design and manufacturing
  • Working with customers to agree and negotiate final requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and experience
  • Experience of working and managing across various departments to successfully complete tasks to tight deadlines
  • Experience of commercial and technical contracts
