Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Technical Sales & Business Development Manager – Water Solutions.

Are you ready to dive into a dynamic role where you’ll be part of shaping the future of the maritime industry?

As our new Technical Sales & Business Development Manager, you’ll lead the charge in driving sales growth and maximizing profitability across our innovative portfolio. In this role, you’ll connect with customers to understand their needs and craft tailored strategies that deliver real value. Using your deep technical expertise, you’ll showcase how our solutions solve challenges, highlight key benefits, and simplify the technical sales process—right through to closing deals. Whether tackling advanced technical questions or spearheading new initiatives, you’ll be at the forefront of building meaningful customer relationships and fueling our growth in the maritime industry.

What you will work on:

  1. Drive profitable sales growth for current and new customers within the product portfolio.
  2. Prioritize target lists, and follow through with the respective activity required to close deals, demonstrating a best practice technical sales approach.
  3. Work closely with the Sales counterpart (KAM) to define relevant SPG integration within their Sales Activity Plans, ensuring tangible activity is owned, implemented, and recorded relating to the planned opportunities captured.
  4. Ensure opportunity progression in sales pipeline and conversion to account sales.
  5. Secure strong focus and follow-up on NBI and DD opportunities in the pipeline.
  6. Proactively utilize the available sales tools to relentlessly identify areas of growth for assigned product portfolio and facilitate respective actions with target customers.
  7. Foster strong relationships with the customers through high quality and frequent customer face-to-face meetings.
  8. Seek out, develop, and maintain multilevel entry points and relationships with customer target accounts.
  9. Hold the highest level of technical and practical understanding of assigned SPG’s within the sales org. and apply this competency for commercial and customer facing purposes.
  10. Ensure accurate and updated information is inputted in WSS CRM system including visit reports, opportunities, deals etc.

What you need to succeed in the role:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent marine qualification preferred. Lack of formal education can be compensated by relevant experience.
  2. Preferably international sales experience in technical sales.
  3. Sailing or other maritime engineering experience is preferred.
  4. Results oriented and with demonstrated achievements in sales.
  5. Experience from negotiating with customers.
  6. Proven track record of establishing and maintaining relationships with customers.
  7. Ability to work independently by planning and organizing own work.
  8. Ambitious and a strong desire for success with a commercial mindset.
  9. IT literate/digital savviness, with experience from working with Excel, MS Office, CRM systems etc.
  10. Proven communication skills and a good command of the English language (verbal and written).
