Overview
Technical Quality Manager - (251531). Hybrid role; working on our development sites, from our office at Liverpool Street, London and from home. Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw). £42,000 - £47,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan and a car allowance of £4609 per annum, based on mileage.
Responsibilities
- Join as an integral part of our project team before and during the construction phase for our new homes programme; manage the technical quality of schemes in the South region from Essex to South Midlands; advise on the technical and quality aspects of the design, specifications and standards; carry out regular inspections.
- Drive technical design and quality by reviewing documentation and drawings to sufficiently describe the works and meet Building Safety requirements; provide technical sign‑off where required.
- Manage inspections and reporting at key build stages (including up to handover and at the end of the defect liability period); refer to plans, photograph works, take measurements and check materials.
- Attend pre-construction site meetings and other technical project meetings to provide technical and quality input.
- Ensure homes are delivered on time and programme risks are managed; work closely with project teams, carry out regular reviews on contractors’ progress against programmes and provide advice on handover dates and programme risks.
- Regular monitoring and recording of inspections by Building Control and NHBC/Warranty; track issues raised and ensure they are rectified; support the teams to hold contractors to account for quality, workmanship and safety on our construction sites at all times.
Requirements
- Experience of the full development process with a residential developer, contractor or consultant in the construction or housebuilding industry. A good technical knowledge in identifying defects, snags and general construction quality in new homes.
- Up-to-date knowledge of regulations, codes and standards, including materials, trades, methods and legal requirements.
- Hold a relevant degree (or equivalent professional experience) alongside a professional accreditation such as RICS, CIOB, ICWCI, RIBA or equivalent or be working towards this.
- As safety is of paramount importance, a detailed understanding of Health & Safety regulations, with experience of ensuring sites and assets remain safe. You’ll hold, or be prepared to work toward, a site safety accreditation such as CSCS or equivalent.
- You’ll have a good eye for detail, be a great influencer, with a good understanding of the external environment and our place within it.
